To me Bhutan is the most wonderful country to take pictures of people: nowhere else it happens so many times that people say "thank you" to me after I have taken their photo! Most people are in such a beautiful and relaxed way open towards me and my camera, neither demanding nor refusing, but just being there, being themselves, as it would be the most natural and easy thing to do...it looks like it really IS the most natural thing to them!
Probably it is because of this relaxed, open and respectful attitude that only after a normal day with encounters with only normal people I feel very much nourished in my soul and in
my heart.
Through experiences like these I understand that the philosophy of "Gross National Happiness" that the wise kings of Bhutan have chosen as their leading concept is much more than just nice words.
